Whereabouts

The World Anti-Doping Code of the World Anti-Doping Agency and the Swiss Olympic’s doping statute stipulate that unannounced tests are to be carried out of competition. For this reason certain athletes and teams, depending on the control pool to which they belong, must state and update their whereabouts.

Athletes and teams in Switzerland can give their whereabouts using an electronic system (SIMON).

Athletes and team administrators who are required to give their whereabouts will receive from Antidoping Switzerland a personal letter with details of their user name and password.

Some international associations require that athletes and teams give their whereabouts using a different electronic system (ADAMS). These athletes or teams do not have to give their details to Antidoping Switzerland as well.

A range of different whereabouts requirements exist for athletes and teams. These are determined by the performance level and the corresponding control pool to which an athlete or team belongs.
